Sudan Volunteer Organization (SVO) implemented a project aimed at providing psychological support and trauma therapy services to refugees in the Adré camps, Chad, focusing on mental health and body mapping to aid in the recovery from the psychological effects of wars and trauma.
Over the past period, these services have been provided to more than 100,000 refugees in the camps of eastern Chad for several years. The services included specialized training to enhance the ability to cope with psychological trauma and improve mental health. These trainings also helped refugees understand how traumatic experiences affect their bodies and minds, contributing to better recovery.
As part of this project, SVO collaborated with the Peaceful Heart Network organization to provide training on the TTT methodology. SVO is working to expand the project by establishing a permanent tent to continuously offer trauma training and psychological services.
